Elder - Youth / Deputy Chair of SUC Board
Brief info
I started attending Savannah United Church in 1996. This church became my home church. I grew up in the Four Paths United Church in Jamaica as child and eventually became a member. I started visiting Savannah United Church not long after my arrival in Grand Cayman and Savannah eventually became my home church. The first three ministries I got involved in at Savannah were Fellowship, Youth and Prayer. I was elected to serve on the board from 2006-2015. At that time, I served on the Community Care Mat as well as the Prayer, Youth and Fellowship (now Fellowship and Hospitality) ministries. I was elected as a member of the board in 2020 and I presently co-chair the Evangelism Mat and continue to serve in the ministries mentioned earlier.
The following ministries Youth, SASEP, VBS, Pantry and Sports falls under the remit of the Evangelism Mat. We have monthly meetings where we discuss outreach ministry events, budget, and plan timely Evangelistic Outreach training sessions for all members to participate. The Evangelism Mat is also working with other Mats to invite our members to become more involved in Evangelistic Outreach. The Evangelism Mat recognizes the responsibility and importance of the Great Commission call in Matthew 28: 19-20, for all members of our church to be involved in building God’s Kingdom.
As a Christian I strive daily to live a life that pleases God, that others can experience his love in their interactions with me. I now share with you some Bible passages that I use as my daily reflection to build and strengthen my Christian life; Jeremiah 29:11, Colossians 3:17, Philippians 3 :14-15, Philippians 4:13.
